Dental Philosophy and Mission Statement
Dr. Krol feels very honored to be able to have provided dental treatment to thousands of patients for the past 30 years. Dr. Krol knows that everyone has a choice on whom they select to be their dental provider and is very humbled by the fact that so many have chosen him for so long. He feels that in order to retain a patient, that person has to feel like they are his total focus when sitting in his dental chair and be made to feel as comfortable as possible during treatment and confident that Dr. Krol and his staff are providing the most current as well as most reliable dental treatment available. Dr. Krol likes to simplify like this… “Treat every person who sits in your dental chair like they are your mother. Then the comfort level for the patient will be at it’s optimum and treatment decisions will be easy.”
It is this philosophy along with an abundance of dental knowledge and experience combined with an incredibly talented, knowledgeable, and compassionate and caring staff that has made the practice of Dr. Krol the choice of so many in Northwest Indiana and beyond.
Dr. Krol is a life-long resident of Northwest Indiana. He was born in Hammond, Indiana and attended high school at Bishop Noll Institute. From there Dr. Krol attended Marian University in Indianapolis where he majored in chemistry. This is where Dr. Krol’s path to the profession of dentistry differed from most others. The usual course is to attend 4 years of undergraduate college and then move on to dental school. Dr. Krol was an exception. Dr. Krol completed his chemistry major in just 3 years (excluding a semester of a liberal arts elective) and then was 1 of only 3 students accepted into the Indiana University School of Dentistry class of 1987 out of a class of 115 after only 3 years of undergraduate studies! To be in that group of less than 3% is quite a honor as acceptance into dental school is at a national average of only about 6%. Dr. Krol went on to graduate from dental school in 1987 and came back home to Northwest Indiana to practice in Highland. Dr. Krol’s ever-growing practice made two moves since then always expanding to fit the needs of his valued patient base to the current Schererville, Indiana location that he currently practices in.
Dr. Robert Fozkos, DMD received his undergraduate degree from Wabash College and graduated from Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University. While in dental school, he participated in a dental mission serving underprivileged patients in the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Fozkos has been in private practice for the past few years and has received advanced training in implant restorations, restorative dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and endodontic therapy. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, and the Northwest Indiana Dental Society.
Outside of the office, Dr. Fozkos has a passion for live music and cooking, and he is also an avid Chicago sports fan. When he is not treating patients, he enjoys staying active by swimming, cycling, hiking, and spending time with his family and friends.
